Michailidis Georgios studied Civil Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), then followed a MSc. In Applied Mathematics at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He obtained his PhD from Ecole Polytechnique, in collaboration with Renault, in 2014 for his work on Topology Optimization. During 2014-2017 he worked in academia (Ecole Polytechnique, Grenoble INPG) and followed an ‘acceleration’ program for start-up projects at the incubator of Ecole Polytechnique (X-UP). Since 2017 he works for ANSYS Inc., the world-leader software editor in mechanical simulation.

For more than 15 years, his R&D activity evolves around Computational MorphoGenesis, i.e. the generation of structural forms via automated form-finding techniques, based on optimization algorithms and numerical computations.
